Happy Holidays to all this season! May good tidings come your way and love be plentiful.
One of the gifts that I received this year for Christmas is “Lies Across America: What Our Historic Sites Get Wrong” by James W. Loewen, author of Lies My Teacher Told Me. I found this book while I was searching on Amazon for Christmas gifts that I wanted. I was really looking to find some good books about historic sites, museums, and archives. This was among the collection of books that I placed on my Christmas wish list to send to my S/O.
I have not read this book yet, but just from reading the Contents page, I know that I will have much to learn about and hopefully be able to pull information from what I read into my personal life. As someone who is always seeking the truth, I feel that this book will open up my eyes to some of the misconceptions about historic sites that I might’ve previously learned about while in high school or otherwise.
I hope you have a beautiful holiday season and I will be back posting regularly soon as well. In the meantime, feel free to comment about books that have inspired you or changed the way you think about the world and things you thought you previously knew.
